I am a teacher-scholar from Nepal. Currently, I am a full-time faculty member at Texas Christian University. I graduated with my PhD in Rhetoric and Composition at the University of Texas at El Paso. I completed my master’s degree in English at Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and I earned my second master’s degree in Rhetoric and Composition at Eastern Illinois University, USA.
I worked as a writing center consultant at Eastern Illinois University (EIU) for two years from Fall 2008 to Spring 2010. Then, I have been teaching undergraduate composition courses or technical communication at the university level to diverse students for about a decade in the United States. I worked as Assistant Director of First-Year Composition at the University of Texas at El Paso for the academic year 2018-2019. Additionally, I served as Assistant Director of the University Writing Center for the academic year 2020-2021.
Teaching is my way of serving my community. I am constantly challenged by the diversity of my students as they motivate me to upgrade my teaching pedagogies and methods to make my classrooms inclusive learning spaces that accommodate the full spectrum of racial, cultural, and linguistic diversity among my students. It is my hope that my classes inspire my students to become confident in their unique communicative skills. I also aim to empower my students to use their unique rhetorics to target their respective communities in ways that are culturally relevant to the issues which are central to their communities.​
My research interests include multimodal/digital composition and rhetoric, cultural rhetorics, multilingualism, and technical/professional writing. I have published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, and I have presented my research at more than 25 conferences.​
